The Salute on Thursday 7th February following the death of the King

Smoke from the guns of the Honorable Artillery Company billowed out over the Thames at Tower Bridge.  From the Tower of London the Company fired one shot a minute for each of the 56 years of the Kink’s life.

A similar salute was fired in Hyde Park by the six guns of the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery.  The first shots of the salute were fired on the stroke of noon.
