A memory of Groucho Marx

It was on Friday 19th August 1977 that Groucho Marx passed away.  I would have loved to have seen him and/or heard him in real life but that was not to be.  He – and his brothers – remain a source of great fun.  For incidence here are three ‘comments’ that still make me laugh:

From ‘The Cocoanuts’: ‘What’s a thousand dollars?  Mere chicken feed.  A poultry matter.’

From ‘Duck Soup’: ‘I could dance with you until the cows come home.  On second thought I’ll dance with the cows and you come home.’

From ‘Animal Crackers’: One morning I shot an elephant in my pyjamas.  How he got into my pyjamas I don’t know.’

As they say – ‘they don’t do things like that now.’
