The birth and growth of Facebook

It was on Wednesday 4th February 2004 that Mark Zuckerberg with Andrew McCollum, Chris Hughes, Dustin Moskovitz and Eduardo Saverin launched something they called Facebook.  In the beginning it was only available to Harvard students.  It then began to grow.  First to higher education institutions in the Boston area; then to Ivy League schools and then to Stamford University.  In February 2012 it held its initial public offerings for shares. In May they began selling stock to the public.  On Monday 13th July 2015 it became the fastest company in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to reach a market cap of $250 billion.

Do you think it will catch on?
